968 Celebrations

Here are some past 968 events.  All 968 owners are welcome to attend.

There have been seven 968 Celebrations: 2001-2004 in Hershey, 2005 in Reston, VA, and 2006 in Newtown, Pa, and 2007 in Hershey.


This year's 968 Celebration

968 Celebration on September 18-20 in Albuquerque, NM at the PCA Escape

As noted in Sept 2002 Panorama magazine, this was the largest USA gathering of 968s.

50 owners from; Alabama, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, South Carolina and Virginia.

47 coupes, cabriolets, club sports, turbo S's coming to the event (only model missing was the Turbo RS). 80 people participated in the buffet dinner. Judy Hendrickson, PCA National Treasurer, was in attendance.

he 2003 Celebration had even more cars than 2002.

The 2004 event had 60 cars participating (including 2 Turbo conversions and 1 original Club Coupe from Germany) with 108 people attending the awards banquet. Cars, and their owners, came from; Alabama (1), Canada (1), Connecticut (7), Dist. of Columbia (1), Georgia (1), Illinois (1), Indiana (1), Kentucky )1), Maine (1), Maryland (1), Massachusetts (4), New Hampshire (2), New Jersey (8), New York (3), North Carolina (2), Ohio (2), Pennsylvania (14), Puerto Rico (1), South Carolina (1) and Virginia (7).

Many of the owners left with beautiful 968 Award Crystals and beautiful door prizes, including a Porsche Front Engine Water Cooled Collector Set.

Special Guest Speaker:  Tom Charlesworth (Tulsa, OK), PCA National Technical Committee Chairman
(11 Technical Committees report to Tom) made a technical presentation on the 968 during the Celebration.

 

Pete Fitzpatrick's original Speed Yellow Turbo S (10th of 14 made) which he is converting to a RS model.
Also, Matt Drendel's original Guards Red Turbo RS (1st of 4 made).
